About Me

I am passionate about helping learners thrive in their educational journeys. With a Master's degree in TESOL from Teachers College, Columbia University, and over 5 years of teaching experience in diverse settings, including public schools in New York City and international schools in Japan, I specialize in English language learning, phonics, and math, as well as adult ESL lessons. Trilingual in English, Mandarin, and Japanese, I am able to teach and support learners in all three languages, adapting to their linguistic and cultural needs. My teaching philosophy centers on creating a supportive and engaging environment where students feel comfortable exploring their abilities. I adapt my lessons based on individual needs, using a variety of methods such as games, storytelling, and digital tools. Witnessing the moment a concept clicks for a student is what drives my commitment to tutoring, as I strive to build their confidence and academic success. In my free time, I enjoy exploring languages and cultures, which enhances my understanding of the learning process.
