I'm a deeply passionate language educator specializing in Portuguese language instruction and services, with 16 years of experience in language teaching (EFL, Portuguese and French). I lived and worked in Portugal and Brazil as a teacher and translator for 9 years, following which I returned to the U.S. to pursue a PhD in Portuguese and Brazilian Studies at Brown University and then taught Portuguese at Yale. Although I mainly research Lusophone (Portuguese-speaking) Africa in my academic life, I have knowledge of and experience with all the main varieties of Portuguese and Lusophone cultures.
