About Me

I have found that finance is not a subject that many students have had much exposure to in the past. I chose a career in finance because I find it to be a very important, challenging and rewarding occupation. I have worked in the investment management and financial planning industry for 25 years. I currently work for a Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firm that handles complex client relationships. I have also been an adjunct university finance professor for 9 years that taught master's and undergraduate finance classes. I received my MBA from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO. I received my bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in psychology from the University of Kansas in Lawrence. I do hold the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. I have also been a grader of the level III CFA exam many times. I also am a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). I do enjoy tutoring investment management, corporate finance and financial planning. I believe finance is an art form that may not always have one answer. My style is one of calmness and patience with students. I may not always have the answer right away but will get it. I do also believe the basics are completely understood before we move on to more complex topics.
