About Me

Hello. I am looking forward to helping you with your history and social studies subjects. Since 1997, I have taught social studies courses at both the high school and middle school levels, in grades 6-12, as well as in undergraduate college courses. The courses I have taught include United States and World History (AP, middle and high school on-level, and college level), Anthropology, Civics, and Law and Human Rights. For the past seventeen years, the students in my AP U.S. History classes have consistently had a passing rate between 87%-90%, and for those students I have individually tutored, I have a 100% passing rate. I am also an AP reader. Each year, I score thousands of actual AP U.S. history exams, which has provided me much insight into what the college board actually expects in DBQs, LEQs, and SAQs. Outside of social studies teaching, I have also taught college level education courses, mentored student teachers and tutored for state education exams. Finally, as for my educational background, I have a BA in history and anthropology from Washington University in St. Louis, an MS in social studies education from Syracuse University, and an MA in history from the University of Connecticut.
