Good luck to all students aspiring to become licensed in the securities or the investment advisory fields, my profession for many years. Please know that I started a broker/dealer from scratch which required me to pass all exams from series 7 and 24 to all the managers licenses needed such as options, muni bonds including series 27, FinOp. I also passed the series 65 exam and professionally managed portfolios. Later I worked as the lead instructor for a firm teaching series 7. I opened my own series 7 school but had only one class because I was too busy running my broker/dealer. Please know that I am an EXPERT in OPTIONS on the series 7 exam. Professionally, I wrote all my firm's written supervisory procedures (WSP). My experience continued with me winning the Small Firm Advisory Board (SFAB) position representing the North Region of the FINRA map. The SFAB had only five elected representatives, and I was one. The SFAB's role was to review and comment on proposed changes to existing rules and to proposed new rules. A small firm is defined as 150 registered reps or less, and the SFAB was created to be the bridge between small firms and the mega firms, two vastly different business models. Good luck in your career.
