I recently graduated from Boston College with a music major and a chemistry minor. Here, I was a member of the Arts and Sciences Honors Program. Throughout my life, I have possessed a deep affinity for academics, and I love to learn and teach. That is a big reason as to why I am here as a tutor.I have ample experience as a tutor. I discovered my great love for tutoring my senior year of high school, when I tutored several of my peers in Calculus. I tutored throughout my undergraduate years, earning great praise as a chemistry tutor.My main approach as a tutor is to slowly ween my students off of my help. I usually begin the session with an example of myself performing a problem, and then I walk my students through the problem. Towards the end of the session, I challenge my students to act as if I'm the student and have them lead me through a problem.

I earned my undergraduate degree at Marquette University in Mechanical Engineering. My focus was in thermal sciences, specifically combustion and heat transfer. While at Marquette I did research on thermal transfer in turbulent flow. While at Marquette, I spent a summer at Northwestern University doing research in bandgap theory and kinetic energy harvesters. I moved back to my hometown of Chicago to get my Masters at Illinois Institute of Technology. I studied Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering with a focus in Thermal Science and Fluid Mechanics. I have a strong passion for the academic realm and believe only through a strong background in theory can you develop an excellent practical engineering ability. In my spare time I enjoy camping, hiking, and swimming. I also help out at my local Boy Scout troop. I am a bit of a nerd and play many table top board games.

I am currently a college student at University of Illinois at Chicago, obtaining my degree in Biological Science as well as a minor in Chemistry and Psychology. During my years in High school, I spent my free time tutoring kids from the ages of 9 to 15. I was also a summer camp counselor for four years. While I tutor mainly elementary school kids, I'm most passionate about Chemistry. In my experience with tutoring younger individuals, I learned how to adapt to each person's teaching style. I spent a lot of time trying to find new ways to help make learning fun and understandable. In my spare time, I usually draw, write, and learn to do makeup.
