About Me
My approach to coaching and tutoring is grounded in the belief that how I show up matters. My tone, responses, and decisions shape the learning environment and influence whether adults feel supported, challenged, or discouraged. In both coaching and tutoring, I am responsible for creating conditions that promote growth rather than fear, reflection rather than compliance, and problem-solving rather than quick fixes. I view coaching and tutoring as shared learning processes. Adults bring their experiences, expertise, and professional identities into the work, and meaningful learning happens when those experiences are acknowledged and examined. At times, tutoring requires more direct instruction or modeling; at other times, coaching calls for questioning, reflection, and guided discovery. In both cases, my role is to help learners recognize how their choices can escalate or de-escalate situations and either strengthen or undermine relationships. Effective adult learning depends on trust, relevance, and agency. Whether I am tutoring a specific skill or coaching broader practice, I focus on learning that is practical, connected to real challenges, and immediately useful. I balance structure with flexibility, knowing that adults need clarity while also having room to reflect, adapt, and take risks. Growth occurs when learners feel safe enough to be honest and supported enough to try something new. At the core of my coaching and tutoring work is a commitment to professionalism, ethics, and reflection. I support educators in examining how their beliefs influence their practice and how daily decisions affect students, families, and colleaguesparticularly those from vulnerable or marginalized communities. When adults feel respected and empowered, they are more likely to build confidence, deepen their skills, and act with intention. I know coaching or tutoring is effective when learners are actively engaged, willing to reflect on their practice, and increasingly confident in their ability to make thoughtful, humane decisions in complex situations.
