About Me

I am passionate about helping students discover that science doesn't have to be intimidating - it can be approachable, engaging, and even fun. Watching students grow in confidence as they master a subject is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching for me. My background is in medical laboratory science, where I gained years of hands-on clinical experience across multiple laboratory disciplines. For the past three years, I've taught microbiology in a clinical laboratory science program, designing lectures, labs, and study tools that make complex material easier to understand, and helping students prepare for the MLS ASCP board exam. I also hold a Master of Science in Microbiology and Cell Science from the University of Florida, which allows me to bring up-to-date and advanced knowledge into my tutoring sessions. I specialize in tutoring microbiology, biology, and related subjects, such as immunology and genetics/molecular biology. I especially enjoy microbiology because it connects so directly to human health and everyday life. My tutoring style is friendly, patient, and engaging. I focus on breaking down challenging concepts into clear, manageable steps, and I love using interactive strategies to make learning memorable. Outside of academia, I enjoy reading, baking, and trying out new creative projects. I bring that same curiosity and enthusiasm into my teaching, encouraging students to see connections and find joy in the learning process.
