About Me

A patented inventor, Travis graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2020 with a degree in biomedical engineering (concentrated in biomechanics) and a minor in industrial design. Travis scored a 35 on the ACT and graduated salutatorian of his high school class while playing varsity baseball and participating in marching and concert band, so he knows that the ability to perform under pressure, whether on a standardized test or in a normal day of class, comes from self-confidence and discipline. He has completed coursework and can tutor in a variety of subjects, but is especially proficient in STEM areas, such as college-level biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics (up to linear algebra, differential equations, and multivariable calculus). A long-time tutor dating back to his friends in high school and college, Travis knows firsthand that nothing proves that you have mastered a concept more than the ability to teach it to someone else. This principle is something Travis likes to utilize in tutoring sessions, where concepts are broken down into elementary, fundamental building blocks that the student can use in progressively more complex and challenging scenarios, ultimately reaching the level of understanding where the student is able to teach these core concepts back to me. Travis is originally from Dallas, Texas, has lived in Georgia, Indiana, Ireland, Arizona, and Pennsylvania, and currently lives in the Raleigh, North Carolina area. In his free time, he enjoys reading, planning family vacations, listening to new music, and following professional and amateur baseball.
