About Me

I am a graduate of Western Governors University with a bachelors degree in Elementary Education. I am currently enrolled in a graduate program at Texas Women's University studying Literacy Education. Which will grant me a certificate as a Reading Specialist. I am on my fourth year working as a Special Education teacher in Texas. While I teach reading, writing, math and social skills my favorite subject to teach is reading, specifically teaching from our dyslexia program which starts from the basic letter sounds and builds knowledge from there. Prior to teaching in the USA I spent some time in Costa Rica in a Sunday School classroom teaching young children a lesson provided by their current teacher. That's really where I fell in love with teaching. Outside of being an educator I enjoy spending time with my dogs, hiking, and reading!
