As an enthusiastic mentor for my students, I truly enjoy seeing their 'a-ha' moments when they grasp a concept or have better understanding of the subject. Students seem to appreciate my patience and dedication to their learning, a knack for making serious learning seem fun and an ability to clearly communicate to all. I really enjoy creating learning environments using interesting examples from real life scenarios so students can learn through practical experiences. Personally, I look forward to learning something new from students every day. I am very excited to share my favorite areas studied through the University of Iowa in business, leadership, communication, engineering and science.

My favorite place to be is anywhere outdoors in the fresh air with my family. As a lifelong friend of the earth and wildlife, I spend my free time soaking in all that nature has to offer and supporting environmental concerns. Some of my indoor interests include restoring old homes, building miniature houses, and watching scary movies.
