About Me

Whether you are new to the Chinese language, preparing for schoolwork or exams, or looking to improve your skills for business, I would love to share my knowledge of Mandarin with you. In today's increasingly global world, Chinese is one of the most valuable languages to learn. China's rapid economic growth and large population make Mandarin a highly practical skill. As one of the oldest continuously spoken languages, Chinese also offers a gateway to understanding humanity's rich culture and vibrant history. In the age of AI, education can feel challenging. With a Ph.D. and extensive experience working with students at all levels, I believe that "true education is a heart-to-heart activity, and only when it comes from the heart can it reach the depths of the heart." As your Mandarin tutor, I will use a purpose driven learning approach. During our first meeting, I will spend about 10 minutes getting to know your motivation for learning Chinese, your current skill level, and your preferred learning materials. If you do not have specific materials, I will work with you to develop a curriculum that balances your goals, interests, and personal schedule. I will also recommend free learning resources for you to review before our next session. In the future sessions, I will teach using AI-assisted custom- designed learning materials and assign supplementary homework if you prefer, based on the workload we discuss during our initial consultation.
