About Me

I graduated from Jacksonville State University with a Master's Degree in English. I am currently an English Instructor at a technical college. My experience with teaching and tutoring spans a wide range of ages and subjects, from college all the way down to preschool. I teach and tutor ACT Prep, English, ELL, writing, literature, speech, math, and more! I am a passionate educator who is highly skilled at challenging, motivating, and guiding each student to reach his potential through positive reinforcement, observation, and various teaching strategies. I am patient and dedicated to the overall success of each student. I have experience working with students of diverse backgrounds, cultures, lifestyles, and abilities. I am committed to creating a safe, encouraging, and enjoyable learning environment for all. I am willing to go above and beyond to help meet each student's educational needs. I was a home educator who hosted co-ops and created curriculum and taught many ages and subjects. I enjoyed developing fun classes that taught multiple subject areas at the same time! I also taught acting classes and directed children's plays (I minored in drama in college). My favorite subjects to teach are ACT Prep (mostly English, math and reading), English grammar, reading comprehension, and ELL (I am a 5 star teacher for VIPKid Global). I love working with students who need extra a little extra help to catch up as well. Here are a couple of messages I have received from my ACT students: "He did it! He did it! I finally made the score I need to graduate and I couldn't have done it without you. I needed a -- to pass and I made a --! I am very excited! Thank you!" I am also highly involved in community events and volunteer on a regular basis. I have a passion for learning and experiencing new things. I can be found on the stage of community theater regularly.
