A graduate of the University Colorado Denver, I completed my Bachelor of Science in biology, with a minor in women's and gender studies, in three years and graduated with Magna Cum Laude Honors. I am currently a 3.95 GPA student at Miami University of Oxford, Ohio where I am pursuing an M.A. in Biology with Project Dragonfly's Global Field Program. I will begin my Ph.D. research at the University of New Mexico in the fall of 2024, where I will be studying the interactions between animal behavior and other realms of the biology field. I spent two years as a professional High School Biology teacher, and was highly praised by students and parents for my ability to creatively adapt to individual student learning needs. I am a highly motivated and diligent person, with varied experience in primary and secondary education, laboratory work, science education, and both professional scientific writing and journalism. As a worker, my passions for science, communications, and learning have allowed me to pursue interests that have given me a diverse but deeply focused skill set. I am reliable, passionate, analytical, and highly organized, and have very strong written and verbal communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. I am creative in my problem solving and scientific design, and am always interested in finding new research. As a teacher and a tutor, I believe that the student's learning is fundamentally the most important thing, regardless of what techniques work to make it happen. In my classroom I often used games, activity choices, and other methods for ensuring each student got the skills that they needed to succeed. As a tutor I will ensure that you get the most focused, knowledgeable session that a tutor can provided. My advanced STEM, research, English language, and social science skills will allow me to help you succeed in a variety of areas, and ensure that you are set up to build the skills necessary for future coursework. Additionally, my experience with learning disorders makes me uniquely qualified to adapt to any learning needs, and design a system of study specifically for you. I am a very passionate and dedicated person. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my partner, cooking, watercolor painting, watching movies/shows, reading, exploring, and diving headfirst into those random research rabbit holes that happen to pique my curiosity.
