About Me

I am currently a senior at NJIT, majoring in Data Science and minoring in Business. Over the past five years, I have developed extensive tutoring experience, both in-person and online, with students aged 817. I am known for being a highly charismatic and engaging teacher, with a talent for simplifying even the most complex concepts, making learning easy and comfortable for students. I specialize in tutoring for SAT, ACT, AP Biology, AP Literature/Language and Composition, Magnet school preparation (admissions tests and interviews), and K12 Mathematics (Prealgebra, Algebra 1, Precalculus) as well as reading and writing. I also teach SAT English, with students increasing their scores under my guidance. My teaching philosophy centers on delivering robust lesson plans tailored to each student's learning style. I am passionate about explaining content in a clear, approachable way, aiming not only to strengthen knowledge but also to build confidence for long-term academic success. During June to August 2020, I dedicated 30 hours of service with Project Inspire, mentoring economically disadvantaged students in writing and supervising their personal narratives. Additionally, I tutored over 100 hours online with Jumpstart Tutoring and created lesson plans for students at a nonprofit organization, teaching twice a week over the summer. In all my roles, I have been actively involved in lesson preparation, curriculum implementation, progress checks, and mentoring. I take pride in adapting to each student's learning style, ensuring comprehension before moving on to new concepts. I conduct progress checks, assess strengths and weaknesses, and accommodate specific requests from students and parents. I have helped hundreds of students gain both skills and confidence, turning low grades into "A"s and supporting struggling students to pass and excel. My goal is to unlock each student's potential and help them achieve their best results. Over the past year, I have dedicated over 200 hours to tutoring at an education center, supporting students' academic growth. Hearing students express how I've helped them understand material better and improve their grades is incredibly rewarding. I am honored to have received the Presidential Service Award for completing over 450 hours of community service, a significant portion of which involved tutoring. Student feedback highlights my reliability, knowledge, and positive impact on their learning journeys. As someone passionate about reading and writing, I have published articles on Medium and engage in poetry writing in my free time. My expertise in reading comprehension and essay writing, developed through AP coursework, makes me well-suited to assist students in these areas. I have tutored extensively in reading comprehension, essay writing, and grammar, including preparation for magnet school applications. I also enjoy teaching Pre-Algebra and Algebra, guiding students through challenging topics like systems of equations and functions, and helping them build confidence in problem-solving.
