About Me

I am a NY State/ Maryland Certified teacher. I received my Bachelor of Science In Childhood and Special Education (Grades 1-6) from State University of New York at Geneseo and a Master of Arts In International Education from New York University. I have had teaching experience in kindergarten through third grade both in the United States and as a student teacher in Thailand. For the past two years, I have taught second grade in Maryland. I enjoy supporting elementary students in developing a love for learning, inquiry and discovery in math, reading, writing, science and social studies. I believe that students are best engaged when the learning is individualized to their specific interests and needs. My teaching style focuses on providing hands on learning experiences and game based opportunities for students. During learning experiences, I gradually release responsibility to students to provide the right balance of support and challenge for the learner.
