About Me

I have a Master's degree in Romance Language Literature - Portuguese and Spanish - from the University of Georgia and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from the Federal University of Ceara in Brazil. I have been teaching Portuguese and Spanish since 2015. Even though I am currently teaching undergraduates, I have taught English to K-12 students and to young adults looking to improve their English skills to travel or live abroad. I am most passionate about languages, (English, Portuguese, Spanish) literature, and history. I self-prepared to take Standardized Tests such as TOEFL and GRE. Through my experience with helping struggling students prepare for standardized tests, they always seem to have the same questions and concerns that I have had. Lessons are always fun and yet challenging, I start with a quick assessment and move on to explanation and practice. My expertise is preparing for the critical reading and writing portions of the exams. I am a product of public education myself and I know the difference a tutoring program can make in a child's self-esteem and a creative life. All students can benefit from tutoring, especially if enrolled in advanced classes.
