About Me

As a tutor I begin with strategies that pinpoint strengths and weakness within the student's subject. After the initial assessment the student and I work through problems to bolster weak points while maintaining strengths. In the beginning I like to work similar problems to the student's homework to show methods of solving. Next the student and I will work through a problem together. Lastly, I have the student solve a new problem and explain to me their methods, so that the student may demonstrate understanding of the material. Most recently I was the lead mathematics tutor in the Southern Oregon University Mathematics and Science Learning Commons. At this institution, SOU students were able to receive further math and science help for their respective classes. I tutored all levels of mathematics offered at SOU and General Chemistry, Physics and Biology. I prefer to tutor subjects in mathematics ranging from Algebra 1 up to and beyond Differential Equations. I have graduated Cum Laude from Southern Oregon University in the Mathematics Department's honors program. I will be starting San Diego State University's Masters in Mathematics program in the Fall of 2014.
