This course provides the rigorous development of Pre-Calculus topics necessary to prepare students for studying Advanced Placement Calculus.  The formal study of a function type through multiple representations (e. g., graphical, numerical, verbal, analytical), coupled with the application of the function type to a variety of contexts.  The first semester concepts include the study of polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic, trigonometric functions and their graphs.  Second semester concepts include triangle trigonometry, polar coordinates, vectors, sequences and series, parametric equations and matrices. In addition, students will deepen and extend their understanding in each of these areas through the study of advanced related topics, application to more complex problem-solving situations, expanding on justification for solutions, and applying knowledge with technology.
