Theatre I is an introduction to theatre. In this course the students will study the early history of theatre, theatre terminology, and basic performance skills. The students will participate in theatre games, mine and pantomime, improvisation, and scene study. This course requires memorizing a short scene and reviewing a live stage performance. This course does not cover the breadth and depth of the Theatre I class. This course is designed to facilitate learning outcomes appropriate to the student's instructional needs as documented in the Individualized Education Plan (IEP). This course DOES NOT meet the state graduation requirements.

Prerequisites: Students who qualify for the Alternate Standards. Public performance may be an expectation in this course. Theatre I – Alternate may be repeated for credit.
