Winters Mill High – Painting

This honors level course is designed for advanced art students wishing to refine their painting skills. A wide variety of techniques for using watercolor, tempera, and acrylics will be explored. Application of paint, composition, and color theory will be discussed. This course will allow students to build a portfolio of painted work. Successful completion of this course will develop the student’s foundation portfolio in preparation for Advanced Placement Studio Art. Students should expect some financial responsibility for advanced art materials.
Prerequisites: Successful completion of Art I or recommendation of the art instructor is a prerequisite.
