Winters Mill High – Mystery and Detective Fiction

Students learn the characteristics of the mystery genre through the study of literary works by Edgar Allan Poe, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Dashiell Hammett, Agatha Christie, and other writers. In addition, students will read non-fiction and journalistic texts about crime and mystery solving. Assessment activities may include research projects and the creation of an original mystery story. This course may not be used to meet the State graduation requirements in English.
