Westfield High – Personal Living and Finance
Mar 2026 · 2nd Semester
Students learn how to navigate the financial decisions they must face and to make informed decisions related to budgeting, banking, credit, insurance, spending, taxes, saving, investing, buying/leasing a vehicle, living independently, and inheritance. Instruction in personal finance prepares students to function effectively as consumers, savers, investors, entrepreneurs, and active citizens. This course has been augmented to include the 21 Workplace Readiness Skills (WRS) and upon completion of this course, students may take the WRS assessment, and if successful, receive a Career and Technical Education (CTE) credential. This course is an allowable credit accommodation for students pursuing a standard diploma and may satisfy the Economics and Personal Finance requirement if the student has earned at least 3 credits in history and social science.
