Westfield High – Independent Study

This course will support students in the development of knowledge and skills that foster postsecondary readiness. Students will engage in research and project-based learning of their own choosing with the support of the instructor. Students will be responsible for developing a plan with timelines, checkpoints, and criteria for evaluating their progress throughout the year, culminating in a capstone project and/or presentation. Students will need to submit both form IS-165, Request to Enroll in an Independent Study Course for Elective Credit, and IS-166, Academic Plan for Independent Study for Elective Credit, for approval prior to starting the course.
