Westfield High – Cyber: Routing and Switching 2a, Cisco

This is part A of a full year course. Part A is taken in the fall semester. Students also register and take Cyber: Routing and Switching 2B, Cisco in the spring semester. This course familiarizes students with the equipment applications and protocols installed in enterprise networks, with a focus on switched networks, IP Telephony requirements, and security. It also introduces advanced routing protocols such as Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP) and Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) Protocol. Hands-on exercises, including configuration, installation, and troubleshooting, reinforce student learning. Internship is available for this course. Students combine classroom instruction and supervised on-the-job training in an approved position with continuing supervision throughout the school year.
