Westfield High – Programming

The course helps participants understand the processes involved in software development and object-oriented programming. Through real-world projects, students explore computer concepts, apply logic procedures, and implement programming procedures with one or more languages, such as Java Script, C# and Python. Students create interactive applications by designing the user interface and developing the code to make the application work. In addition, HTML or JavaScript may be employed to create Web pages. This is an introductory course that could lead to careers such as software engineer, developer, or game designer. Internship opportunity is available for this course. Students combine classroom instruction and supervised on-the-job training in an approved position with continuing supervision throughout the school year.
