\*\*AP Cybersecurity Students will acquire the fundamentals of information and data security and understand the vulnerability most organizations have in their security systems with an emphasis on firewalls, security plans and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs). Discussions will include data security methods, authentication, network attacks, malicious code and viruses, wireless security, email and web security and disaster recovery. This course will also focus on the managerial aspects of information security and assurance. Topics covered include access control models, information security governance, and information security program assessment and metrics. Coverage on the foundational and technical components of information security is included to reinforce key concepts, such as security planning and contingencies, security policies, security management models and practices and ethics. Students who pass the AP Cybersecurity exam earn an exam voucher for the CompTIA Security+ certification. Whether students want to study at a 4-year college, or vocational school, or go directionally into the workforce, the culinary courses offered will provide students with the skills necessary to be successful. For the student that doesn’t want a culinary career but wants to learn to prepare nutritious foods for themselves and/or their family, then there is the opportunity to take food courses designed just for that purpose.
