The Physical Therapy Capstone course is designed to provide students the opportunity to explore the role of a physical therapy assistant and to practice the technical skills previously learned in the classroom. It prepares students with the knowledge, skills, and attributes essential for providing basic care in extended care facilities, hospitals, and home health agencies under the direction of licensed Physical Therapists. In addition, students will acquire skills specific to physical therapy, including observing patients' progress, assisting patients with exercises using massage and stretching treatments, aiding patients with mobility devices, educating patients and their families, and performing basic clerical and cleaning tasks.

Prerequisites: Pre-reqs of Principles of Exercise Science and Kinesiology with Human Performance being a pre or co-requisite
