Washington (George) High – World Dance 1

Dance 1 students will learn many different dance styles from the teacher and from each other: contemporary, hip hop, jazz, urban fusion, world dance (African, Salsa), lyrical, and musical theater. Students will work collaboratively in groups to experiment, improvise, and create their own choreography throughout the year to tell stories, express their student voice, and perform. Dance 1 will challenge each dancer’s ability in all genres, as students enter class with varying levels of experience in the broad world of dance.
