This introductory course provides students with an engaging introduction to American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf culture. Students will learn foundational grammatical principles and develop basic signing skills through visual-gestural communication techniques. By the end of the course, students will be able to perform essential language functions, such as introducing themselves and enhancing basic information. Additionally, they will explore cultural norms and behaviors associated with ASL and the Deaf community. Students do not earn a high school credit.
