Floral Design is designed to develop students' ability to identifyand demonstrate the principles and techniques related to floraldesign as well as develop an understanding of the managementof floral enterprises. Through the analysis of artistic floral stylesand historical periods, students will develop respect for thetraditions and contributions of diverse cultures. Students willrespond to and analyze floral designs, thus contributing to thedevelopment of lifelong skills of making informed judgments andevaluations. To prepare for careers in floral design, students mustattain academic skills and knowledge, acquire technicalknowledge and skills related to horticultural systems, and developknowledge and skills regarding career opportunities, entryrequirements, and industry expectations. To prepare for success,students need opportunities to learn, reinforce, apply, andtransfer their knowledge and skils and technologies in a varietyof settings. (Skyline)
