The Wind Symphony is the Premiere Band at Skyridge High School. Membership is by audition only. The group will perform at all school band concerts, Pep Band, Region and State Band Festivals. Please see Mr. Summers for audition materials and requirements.  Weekly after school sectionals and participation in solo/ensemble are required. Private lessons are strongly recommended.

This course is an exploration of drawing and painting through a variety of approaches, forms, and media. This course will cover: elements and principles of art, drawing process, acrylic painting techniques, mixed media, and development of creative concepts and ideas. This course is designed to develop higher level thinking, art-related technology skill, art criticism, art history, and aesthetics. Students will be responsible to provide their own sketchbook and some art materials.

This course is to prepare students to take the Advanced Placement Art Exam at the end of the year. The prerequisite for this course is a strong background in drawing and/or painting and is for students that are highly motivated and seriously interested in the study of art. Ballroom Dance Company is an audition based performance group composed of a varsity team and a JV team. The class will cover advanced techniques in Standard and Latin dances and performance skills. Students will be required to purchase a minimum of two pairs of different dance shoes and provide a black and white rehearsal outfit. Students will develop basic skills in the creation of 3D forms in ceramic clay. With an emphasis on studio production, students will demonstrate skills in the preparation of clay bodies, use of tools and equipment, construction methods, and basic wheel throwing techniques. Students will also develop higher level thinking skills as we integrate art criticism, art history, and aesthetics.

Chamber Orchestra is an auditioned performance ensemble that provides continuing growth in music through the study and performance of advanced orchestral literature.
