Valley High – Health III – Alternate
Mar 2026 · 2nd Semester
Students in course will learn about the current health issues facing young people today, including nutrition, public health issues, behavioral sciences, mental and emotional issues, healthy relationships and human sexuality, and health careers. Students will have opportunities to research, to debate, and to explore topics in greater depth using inquiry and problem-solving approaches. Students will have the opportunity to attempt the requirements needed to receive certification in ASHI CPR/AED/First Aid. This course does not cover the breadth and depth of the Health III class. This course is designed to facilitate learning outcomes appropriate to the student's instructional needs as documented in the Individualized Education Plan (IEP). This course DOES NOT meet the state graduation requirements.
Prerequisites: Students who qualify for the Alternate Standards in grades 11, and 12. Completion of Health II – Alternate.
