This one-semester course explores a variety of health issues which influence the wellbeing of an individual throughout the life cycle. Health education offers students an opportunity to study concepts and skills related to physical, mental and social wellbeing of individuals or groups. This course also provides practical instruction in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR/AED) and first aid. Health issues included relevant to students are basic human anatomy and physiology, mental/emotional health, use and abuse of drugs, tobacco, alcohol, human sexuality, communicable diseases, environmental and consumer health.
