The purpose of this course is to enable students with disabilities to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to prepare for post-school adult living. The content should include, but not be limited to, the following: personal planning, personal care, living arrangements, household maintenance, interpersonal relationships, community involvement and participation, use of leisure time and communication. The content should include, but not be limited to, the following: appropriate classroom behavior, social and personal development, communication skills, behavioral control, conflict resolution, responsibility, interpersonal and intrapersonal problem solving, and appropriate use of leisure time.
