The purpose of this course is to enable students with disabilities to develop and apply self- determination skills in school, home, community, and work settings. These skills will assist students with achieving their desired school and post-school outcomes, participating actively and effectively in planning meetings and self-advocating in multiple settings. # VOCATIONAL EDUCATION FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES 7980110 CAREER PREPARATION: 9-12 Offered: Grade 9, 10, 11, 12 Credit: Multiple Length: Varies Prerequisite: None Type of Credit: Elective The purpose of this course is to enable students with disabilities to acquire the career knowledge and skills necessary to identify career options, access community resources, and develop work-related behaviors. The course will provide a foundation for further progress toward achieving the student’s desired post-school outcomes related to a career. The content should include, but not be limited to, the following: self-appraisal, decision making, self-determination and self-advocacy, career options, community resources related to career decisions, workplace competencies, and rights and responsibilities of employees.
