Twin Peaks Charter Academy – Western Civilizations 2 Honors

Students will examine the development of Western culture starting in the late Roman Empire, beginning with the rise and eventual triumph of Christianity in the fourth century. After examining the fall of the Roman Empire, students will explore the period known as the Middle Ages followed by the Renaissance. Students will briefly focus on the political and philosophical developments of the seventeenth century that will give rise to the Enlightenment. This course will require students to deepen their understanding of historical cause and effect to produce detailed writing pieces.
