Tuscarora High – World War 2

This in-depth course explores one of the most transformative periods in modern history—World War II—through political, economic, social, and cultural lenses. Students will investigate the global conditions that led to the war, trace the rise of authoritarian regimes, and analyze key military campaigns and turning points across multiple theaters. The course emphasizes critical analysis of primary and secondary sources, reflection on human rights violations, and evaluation of the war’s enduring global consequences. By examining diverse perspectives and experiences— including those of soldiers, civilians, marginalized groups, and nations across the world—students will gain a comprehensive understanding of how World War II reshaped the international order and continues to define contemporary global relations.
