This course, often called "Adulting 101," helps students prepare for life after high school by teaching essential life skills. Students will work through practical units to build knowledge and skills for handling real-world challenges. Topics Covered include: Personal Finances: Budgeting, managing money, understanding credit, and filing taxes. Career Preparation: Exploring career options, developing employability skills, and planning for college or vocational training. Independent Living: Grocery shopping, cooking, laundry, and basic clothes mending. Home and Vehicle Maintenance: Basic home repairs and car upkeep. Healthy Relationships: Building positive friendships and romantic relationships, recognizing toxic behaviors, and setting boundaries. Life Skills: Goal setting, problem-solving, and creating a plan for independent living. Students will also practice preparing meals, participate in field trips, and explore high-demand careers through hands-on activities, applying the skills they learn in real-world scenarios. This course provides a strong foundation for a smooth transition into adulthood.
