The Creative Connections course is designed to bring general education and special education students together in a collaborative art-making environment. This inclusive approach creates a unique opportunity for students of all abilities to explore and express their creativity while building empathy, communication skills, and mutual respect. By working side-by-side, students can gain new perspectives, develop stronger social connections, and learn to value the diverse abilities and viewpoints of their peers. The course focuses on fostering a sense of community, emphasizing each student’s contribution to group projects, and highlighting the role of art in bridging differences. Through hands-on projects, students will engage in activities that promote cooperative learning, encourage peer mentorship, and develop teamwork skills that will serve them both in and beyond the classroom.
