Troy High School – Business Entrepreneurship

In this introductory course, students learn the basics of planning and launching their own business. From profit to non-profit, this course helps students develop the core skills needed to be successful. The student will study the characteristics of successful entrepreneurs. Students will also learn about self-employment and basic economic concepts related to small businesses, such as competition and production, how to come up with new business ideas, attract investors, market a business and manage expenses. This course will also walk the student through the steps of developing a business plan, mission and a vision. Students will hear and read inspirational stories of entrepreneurs who have turned their ideas into reality. Students will also have the opportunity to receive an Entrepreneurship and Small Business (ESB) Certification. This certification is worth two ACE credits which are transferrable at most colleges and universities.
