Towne Meadow Elementary School – ACCOUNTING CAPSTONE

Prerequisite/Co-requisite:  Advanced Accounting Open to: 12 Credit: 2 FW-6FW \*\*\*Students must provide their own transportation for field experiences. Accounting Capstone will provide students the opportunity to participate in an intensive work-based learning experience and/or to complete additional coursework in using spreadsheets to solve accounting cases. The Accounting Capstone course will emphasize Managerial Accounting concepts and Income Tax Accounting for individuals and sole proprietorships. Topics include general versus cost accounting systems, cost behavior, cost-volume-profit analysis, budgeting, standard cost systems, responsibility accounting, incremental analysis, and capital investment analysis. Offers an overview of federal and state income tax law for individuals including taxable income, capital gains and losses, adjustments, standard and itemized deductions, tax credits and appropriate tax forms.  Capstone is an optional, additional experience, but not required to meet the graduation requirements.
