This elective course is designed for students with disabilities to develop essential social and interpersonal skills. Students learn strategies for communication, cooperation, conflict resolution, and self-regulation in a supportive environment. Instruction emphasizes practicing positive interactions, building relationships, and applying social skills across a variety of settings. HPO 0700 ADAPTIVE PHYSICAL EDUCATION 9-12 This course provides modified physical education experiences designed to meet the individual needs of students with disabilities in accordance with their IEPs. Students participate in activities that promote physical fitness, motor skills, coordination, and teamwork in a supportive environment. Instruction focuses on developing lifelong fitness habits and fostering confidence through adapted movement and recreational activities aligned with Virginia Standards of Learning. Participation in this course is an IEP team decision.
