Students will learn to express, understand and produce signed language regarding the themes of voting and civic responsibility, chores, educational plans, careers and jobs, entertainment, sports and leisure, nature and wildlife, ecology, current events, history, celebrations and traditions and the arts, architecture and literature. Students exit with an Intermediate-Low proficiency for interpretive (receptive-fingerspelling), interpersonal and expressive presentational mode, at Novice-High for glossing and Intermediate-Mid on the receptive interpretive, aligned with the Virginia Standards and the ACTFL proficiency scale. (Prerequisites: WL590C American Sign Language 1 and WL595C American Sign Language 2)
