This course addresses skills related to child growth and development from pregnancy through school-age. Students will identify healthy behaviors during pregnancy, understand the birthing process, and identify the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development of children at various stages of development. Other topics include characteristics of quality childcare, prevention of child abuse and investigating safe and healthy environments for children to grow and thrive properly.
