Sunrise Mountain High School – Drawing II

This one-year course is designed for students who have successfully completed Drawing I to expand knowledge and skill through an in-depth study of tools, techniques, media and subject matter. Students extend the study of art appreciation and participate in self and group critiques while interpreting, defending, and evaluating art. Problem solving, creativity, and originality are expected in planning, art making, and refl ection. Specifi c drawing styles and signifi cant artists who have used drawing throughout history are emphasized. Through collaboration and production, connections will be expanded between drawing and their academic studies, lives, and the world around them. Instructional practices incorporate integration of diversity awareness including appreciation of all cultures and their important contributions to society. The appropriate use of technology is an integral part of this course. This course fulfi lls one Arts/Humanities credit required for graduation.
