Sunrise Mountain High School – Physical Conditioning with Weights

This one-year course is an activity-oriented course designed to provide students with a comprehensive view of physical conditioning through different styles of weight training and builds upon the knowledge gained in Physical Education I and II. Students develop psychomotor skills and engage in movement and lifetime fi tness activities at moderate to vigorous levels for a minimum of $50 %$ of the instructional time. Fitness-related vocabulary, desirable health habits, physical conditioning, skill development, and safety are emphasized. Instructional practices incorporate integration of diversity awareness including appreciation of all cultures and their important contributions to our society. The appropriate use of technology is an integral part of this course. This course fulfi lls one of the elective credits required for high school graduation and may be repeated.
Prerequisites: Completion of PE I, PE II, or Lifetime Sports with a C or better or Teacher Recommendation Fee: $$ 25.00$ PE uniform/lock rental
