1/2 years of age at or prior to first day of class Maximum Enrollment: 10 Enrollment is limited per North Carolina Board of Nursing (BON) Administrative Rule 21 NCAC 36.0318(i), which requires the ratio of teacher to nurse aide students be 1:10 or less while in the clinical area. DHSR applies BON Rule to the classroom training area. Selected students must be able to provide the following: transportation to clinical sites, proof of updated immunizations and valid government-issued photo ID. These students must submit to a criminal background check and drug screen. This course is designed for students interested in medical careers where personal care and basic nursing skills are used. This course is an enhanced adaptation of the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation (DHSR) Nurse Aide I (NAI) curriculum and helps prepare students for the National Nurse Aide Assessment (NNAAP). Students who pass the NNAAP become listed on the NC NAI Registry. Healthcare agencies may require testing for tuberculosis and/or other diseases and a criminal record check for felonies related to drugs. Aligned Credential: North Carolina Nurse Aide I
