Summer Creek High School – Quantum Computing Dual (OnRamps)

Credit for PHY 309L (PHYS 1307) may be awarded by UT Austin for students who meet grading criteria. Additional fees apply with all OnRamps courses and district scholarships are available Quantum Computing offers an introduction to the modern science and technological applications of quantum physics. Students will develop a deep understanding of the seemingly bizarre quantum world and how its “weirdness” may be harnessed to solve real-world problems. Students taking this course will acquire unique technical skills in physics, programming, cybersecurity, and mathematics; as well as valuable soft skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication through class activities and group projects. Proficiency in algebra and geometry is assumed. This course lays the conceptual groundwork for STEM majors. Students enrolled in OnRamps courses have an opportunity to earn a UT transcripted course grade and credit as long as they meet certain grade criteria.
