The purpose of this course is to enable studentsto develop knowledge of the history, customs,traditions, and purpose of the Army JROTC.The course includes the development of basicleadership skills including leadership principles,values, and attributes. Students should masterappreciation for diversity. Active learningstrategies are integrated throughout the coursewith an emphasis on writing skills and oralcommunication techniques. Financial planningas well as physical fitness, diet, nutrition,healthy lifestyles, awareness of substanceabuse and prevention, and basic first aidmeasures are included. An overview of theglobe and geography and basic map readingskills are incorporated. A study of the United States Constitution, Bill Rights,responsibilities of United States citizens, andthe federal justice system is also provided.
